The tenors of the assistance fined by Bercy

No champagne to celebrate the end of the year, Europ Assistance, Mondial Assistance and Axa Assistance. These three companies, which dominate the global market of assistance for the insured in distress, come to be fined by the ministry of economy. In question, for all three, the same reprehensible practices of their suppliers in France.

On the 28th of December, the directorate-general for competition, consumption and repression of fraud (DGCCRF) has issued an administrative penalty of € 375,000 — the legal maximum — against Europ Assistance, a subsidiary of the Italian Generali, and another, scarcely less high, of 300 000 euros, against Mondial Assistance, property of the German Allianz. As to the French Axa, its fine of 375 000 euros had been formalized a little earlier, on 29 September.
