Grenoble, France and Skoppum, Norway, June 6, 2017 – MEMSCAP (NYSE Euronext : MEMS), provider of innovative solutions based on MEMS technology (micro – electro-mechanical), announced today the launch of a development program for use with piezoresistive pressure sensors for pressure control engine of the aircraft (FADEC).

The Norwegian agency for research and development has announced the launch of “STEGS”, a program of 36 months and funded to the tune of 1.3 million euros to support the development of pressure sensors that are robust, reliable, precise and stable in order to meet the future needs of the aviation industry.

Directed by MEMSCAP, and with the collaboration of SINTEF, the project “STEGS” (“Sensor Technology for Green and Safe Jet Engines ”) is the development of a new family of piezoresistive sensors for control applications engine pressure. Agreements of collaborations with prestigious companies and u.s. agencies in the field of space exploration, and avionics have been put in place in order to benefit from their expertise as pilot customers for this new generation of sensors and to evaluate them in hostile environments.

For applications control of engine pressure, the sensors play a key role for reducing fuel consumption and wear and tear over time. They also allow for the monitoring of combustion parameters and provide alarm signals in order to prevent possible critical failures.

“STEGS” will capitalize on the unique know-how of MEMSCAP in relation to the phenomena of drift, and other key characteristics for aircraft equipage in order to build a new family of products dedicated to the control of the engine pressure.

The aeronautical products modular MEMSCAP are designed for all control systems for the aeronautical and cover a wide range of applications such as the control of engine pressure, altitude, cabin pressure, as well as the computers of flight, the speed indicators and certain space applications.

The specifications and details of the avionics products to MEMSCAP may be obtained by contacting MEMSCAP at info@memscap.com or by contacting directly our office in Skoppum, Norway.
