SUEZ won the contract for waste collection Brisbane, for a period of 16 years and in the amount of 600 million euros. The Group obtains the contract for collection and recovery of waste of the city of Parramatta, located within the metropolitan area of Sydney, for a period of 7 years.

SUEZ won the contract for collection of all waste in Brisbane

Brisbane, the capital of the australian state of Queensland, is the largest local authority in the country. Now in Brisbane for the past 33 years, SUEZ will continue to support the city and its 1.2 million inhabitants in the sustainable management of their waste.

Brisbane city council has awarded SUEZ the renewal of the contract for collection of household waste and recyclables to all of its residents. The Group will provide a fleet of 150 vehicles equipped with a computer technology technology for the real-time monitoring of vehicles, the operations of the collection and access to detailed information on the services provided to residents. 180 employees will be mobilized to ensure more than 125, 000 collection per day. This new contract will commence on 1 July 2018 for a term of 16 years.

SUEZ will ensure the collection of household waste, recyclable and green solid 230 000 residents of Parramatta. The Group will put into service a fleet of 33 collection vehicles equipped with a computer system onboard allows the municipality to track the real-time collection services.

The Group will provide treatment and enhancement, and composting target of all green waste from the municipality to create a local loop of a circular economy and support the municipality in its objective to develop, by 2018, 70% of the waste so far out of landfills.

With these new contracts, SUEZ pursues its development in the sustainable management of waste in Australia, where he ensures that every year the collection of 2.2 million tonnes of waste, with 4 million inhabitants and industrial and commercial customers. The Group also occupies a leading position on the market of the valuation with 1.2 million tonnes of recycled waste per year.
