Gabriel Zucman, 31 years old, is an assistant professor of economics at the university of Berkeley, California. He explains why he is passionate about from the beginning of his studies for the subjects of taxation and tax havens.
How you came, very young, to be of interest to you to the subjects of taxation ?
Taxation, that is to say, the manner in which it collects and redistributes half of the wealth produced each year, is without doubt the most important question which must be faced as a citizen. If the taxes are unfair or ineffective, it is our ability to act collectively, which is mined. I am a child of the financial crisis : when I started my phd in 2009, I wanted to understand what was happening. This led me to look at the international banking statistics.
