Ekinops, winner of the grand prix of growth companies in 2017

Ekinops (Euronext Paris – FR0011466069 – EKI), designer of innovative solutions for transmission on optical fibres for telecom networks for very high-speed, was awarded, at a ceremony held on may 31, 2017, the Grand Prix Business Growth 2017, in the category Electronics and Robotics, companies generating between 5 to 20 M€ turnover.

Created in partnership with the ministry of Economy and Finance, the Grand Prix Business Growth rewards French companies that have experienced a strong increase of their turnover over the past three years. Supported by many institutional investors, including the Medef, Growthco and the CPME, the Grand Prize selects more than 200 companies and to honor fourteen sectors, as well as all stages of business growth. Thus, for each sector, the selected companies compete in the category corresponding to their sales, namely : 5-20 million // 20-100 million euro // 100 million-1 billion euros.

Ekinops received an “Innovation Award” of the european research programme Celtic-Plus

In addition, during the month of may 2017, Ekinops has received an Innovation Award Celtic-Plus in respect of its participation in the project SASER.

Celtic-Plus is the research program of the european industry, under the aegis of EUREKA, specialized in the telecommunications and information technology. The program covers many areas of ICT, such as communication, infrastructure, applications, and multimedia.

SASER is a european project that aims to make communications networks in Europe faster, more cost effective, safer, and more secure. In the framework of this project, a world record of optical transmission had been established in 2015 on the Lyon-Marseille-Lyon of the fiber optic infrastructure of the operational network of Orange. To establish this record of transmission, Orange was supported on optical amplifiers, hybrid Raman/Erbium of new generation developed by Ekinops (read the press release of June 19, 2015).
