The agreement between ABEO and the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games focused on the totality of the facilities of the gymnastics.
The chairman of the Organising committee, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation, Peter Beattie AC, said : “We chose Spieth, brand n°1 in the world, in order to ensure for the athletes a competition on equipment of international class “.
In the tradition of the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games are a competition sport, which is held every four years since 1930 (except in 1942 and 1946), and where to gather the best athletes from 70 countries and member nations of the Commonwealth. In April 2018, 6 600 athletes are expected, Gold Coast, engaged in 25 disciplines. In terms of gymnastics, male athletes will compete in 6 disciplines : floor, horse pommel, rings, jump, parallel bars and horizontal bar. The women’s events include the vault, the asymmetric bars, the beam and the floor.
“After the Games in Glasgow 2014 and Delhi 2010, we are very happy to put our know-how and our experience gained through achievements such as those of the olympic Games of Rio in the service of this large-scale competition,” says Olivier Estèves, President and ceo of ABEO.
