Hiab, part of Cargotec, is arranging a innovationsutmaning in its test – and innovation centre in Hudiksvall, sweden, 5-7 september 2017. The application period started in may and when it closed had Hiab received 35 applications from Finland, Sweden, France, Hungary, Russia, the USA and Zimbabwe. The goal for Hiab CargoHack3 – “Time for Elevation” – is to explore new possibilities in digitisation and connectivity, in order to develop the intelligent cargo handling is easier and safer for our customers.
“CargoHack 3 is an opportunity for these teams to realize their ideas with the help from our mentors. The challenge generated a lot of interest among startups and software companies are passionate about developing lasthanteringsbranschens future. The applications was very high quality which made it difficult to select the eight teams. The limited number of participants gives the mentors a greater opportunity to make new ideas successful,” says Stefan Onkenhout, Director, Innovation and Business Development.
The three challenges which the teams will work with are:
– Make cargo handling easier and safer
– Ensure equipment availability
– Take the leading position in solutions for intelligent load handling
The selected teams were particularly interested in how the new technology can be used to increase security and create value with the help of augmented reality, virtual reality, connectivity, big data and machine learning. The winning teams will receive 20 000 euro for the financing of a pilot project.
