Port (France, 01), 22 may 2017.- After nine months of construction, the French company Poralu Marine, a specialist port equipment top of the range, has just completed the renovation of a marina located in the heart of London, on the Thames, in the tourist area of St Katharine Docks. Spread over three basins, the docks were part of the port of London since 1828. Today, they are rehabilitated into offices, housing and premises for leisure activities. The basins are now hosting marinas.

“For the duration of this project, the main challenge was to move all the boats without disturbing neither their occupants nor the local residents, while nearly 15 % of the marina is manned on a daily basis. The operation required a dozen successive phases, ” explains Virginie Segura, project manager at Poralu Marine.
This urban project includes a real environmental dimension. Poralu Marine has been the preferred equipment in natural materials. The animals have not been forgotten, with harmonious nest boxes for ducks and spawning fish, discrete, and placed under the pontoons. In addition to IEC, Environment division of Poralu Marine, has worked to ensure that this port is the first to integrate 32 suction points of sewage-organized network, for both the boats home yacht. Objective : zero discharge of wastewater into the port.
The refurbishment of St Katharine Docks has been conducted with the company’s ICMS (Inland and Coastal Marina Systems), which manages the logistics and installation for the account of the british company Camper & Nicholsons, in charge of the management of this marina.
