The employees of GM&S has lifted the blockage of the site of PSA

The employees of the automotive supplier creusois GM&S, in liquidation, have lifted the blocking of a site of PSA in the Allier, this Thursday evening. This decision comes after an agreement with the government was reached on the agenda of the forthcoming discussions at Bercy on the 11th of July next.

In the afternoon, the CGT was obtained to indicate, to the agenda of the next meeting, their four claims, namely : volume of orders and turnover, number of jobs taken, support of salaries up to 31 August, social support and allowances to employees which are not included.

“He has been offered a meeting at Bercy Tuesday, 15: 30, on the condition that we raise the camp. We asked for a specific agenda, that we have obtained, the minister who gave the agreement”, explained in front of the press Patrick Brown, delegate CGT.

The meeting should involve all the stakeholders in the folder : PSA, Renault, the buyer GMD, the State and the trade unions, but its holding was conditioned on the lifting of the blocking of the site of Sept-Fons, which had lasted two days.

On BFMTV on Thursday morning, the minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire, said: “We have been working for days, we are not far away from a solution.”

“For the moment, there is nothing”

The employees of GM&S want commitments to increase the number of jobs picked – through commands of subsidiaries of PSA and Renault – and the payment of a “bonus extra-legal”, adding to the redundancy payments for those employees that will not be repeated.

“For the moment, it has nothing”, has launched the trade unionist, recalling that the only bid registered to date, by the number one French stamping GMD, save only 120 jobs on 277.

“With an average age of 50 years, the people sacked will never work in the Creuse. And the minimum, for 30 or 40 years of loyal service to PSA, this is a premium extra-legal. For the last two judicial remedies (editor’s note: suffered by GM&S) they gave, because they had produced parts strategic,” said Patrick Brown.

The minister of the Economy had to be answered concerning the recovery of jobs, “we can always do better but I do not have the habit of selling illusions to the people”. And he added: “What matters is the sustainability of the site”.

PSA is with Renault, one of the two major customers of GM&S. Bercy has begun discussions for several weeks with the two automakers on their investment commitments and orders, as well as with the one buyer said, the group forming the GMD, whose bid to take over the GMD is to be heard on 19 July by the Commercial Court of Poitiers.
