The boss of AccorHotels minimizes its intêrêt for Air France-KLM

“The only reason we are continuing the discussions, it is my desire to strengthen the partnership of the two companies in the digital, loyalty programs and online marketing, said Monday evening Sébastien Bazin in a press conference in New York.

“We don’t need to be an investor to build a partnership”, he said.

The hotel group confirmed on Sunday evening that it was considering a “minority interest” in the capital of Air France-KLM after the information of the Echos, making sure that the number one european hotel, looking at the share of 14.3% of the State in the company’s franco-Dutch in full social crisis.

Discussions

Three options are on the table, according to the daily Les Echos: a redemption of the entire participation of the State by AccorHotels, a partial redemption or an exchange of securities, the State receiving shares AccorHotels in exchange for securities of Air France-KLM.

“Yes, we have started a discussion as to whether we should or should not buy” a portion of the shares of the State, but “we have not yet taken a decision”, declared Sébastien Bazin, recalling that the discussions were at a stage “very preliminary”.

The title of the hotel group rose on Tuesday (+2,55%), after having plunged 7% Monday.
