China is a key region for future growth prospects of the Soitec group. Stephen Lin brings to Soitec nearly 30 years of experience in management positions in the semiconductor industry in China and the United States.

“In connection with our executive team, Stephen Lin’s mission will be to strengthen our interests and develop our market share of plates of SELF in China,” said Thomas Piliszczuk, executive Vice president of Soitec in charge of corporate and strategic development. “Stephen will work closely with our clients, government agencies, institutions, as well as the financial community and investors. It will play a key role in our strategy of development of the ecosystem of microelectronics in China “.
China welcomes all of the key components of the value chain of the electronics, namely the manufacturers of semi-conductors, designers of integrated circuits (companies fabless) and the final consumers. Already firmly established in this country, Soitec work on the development of the ecosystem and the promotion of the silicon-on-insulator (SOI) with its direct and indirect customers. The company is also working closely with Simgui, the industrial partner based in Shanghai, and the National Silicon Industry Group (NSIG), which has recently taken a stake in the share capital of Soitec.
After having started his career in the semiconductor industry at LSI Logic, Stephen Lin has held various management positions with major manufacturers of electronic components, such as NXP Semiconductors, Microsemi, Intel, and Siemens. He has also created several start-ups in China and the United States, including Mobility Ventures. He holds a diploma of engineer from the University of McGill in Quebec and an MBA from Santa Clara University in California. He is the author of numerous publications, including ” The Fabless Semiconductor China Handbook “.
