SNCF : the unions are continuing to strike, despite the announcements of the State

The five trade union federations of cheminots – UNSA, CGT, SUD, FO and CFDT, have decided, for the time being, to continue the strike, which began on April 3, against the reform project of railway of the government. Only the UNSA is considering an exit from the conflict and will make his decision ” very quickly “.

The unions have all been received, on Friday, 25 may in the morning at Matignon by prime minister, Edouard Philippe, whose ads have not convinced. During this meeting, the head of the government has in particular meant that the State would take over a part of the debt of the railway company, or 35 billion euros (25 billion by 2020 and $ 10 billion in 2022). In the early afternoon, during a press conference with the minister of transport, Elizabeth Terminal, Edouard Philippe was assured that there would be “no tax SNCF” to compensate for this assumption of debt :

“The debt will be added to the public debt of the State and will be reimbursed at the same rate as the public debt of the State. “
