Safran acquired the company ISEI, a specialist in the management of flight data for helicopter

Safran Electronics & Defense, has acquired the French SME ISEI specializing in the acquisition systems flight data and associated services for helicopters and light aviation. This assignment has been signed this day at paris air Show by Mr Jean-Claude Marcellet, president of ISEI and by Martin Sion, President of Safran Electronics & Defense.

The systems developed and produced by ISEI come to complete the offer of products and services aeronautical Cassiopeia Saffron Electronics & Defense is designed to optimize the operations of air operators.

Systems tested and certified, the products of ISEI provide a function of collecting and recording flight data of the aircraft (engine parameters, cells, vibration measurements,…), and then ensure their transmission to the operational positions by a satellite link, or, once on the ground, through WiFi networks, Bluetooth and 3G. Actors of the revolution of connectivity in-flight and data management, these systems contribute to greater accuracy of monitoring of the engines and of the cell, improving safety and optimizing cost of operations.

During this signature, Florence Minisclou, the commercial director of the Avionics Division of Safran Electronics & Defence said : “we value Through this acquisition, the know-how of a French SME with innovative and agile animated by a very competent team on the design of electronic equipment for light aircraft, who knows well the needs of helicopter operators. This operation is at the heart of our strategy of mastery of the chain overall data management, since the acquisition, transmission, and services around the data from the aircraft and critical systems. On this occasion, we are strengthening within the avionics division Business Unit Data Management Solutions & Services to better meet the expectations of our customers in the area of data management of aircraft. ”

Based in Aix-en-Provence, ISEI has an installed base of approximately 500 systems operating at more than 50 operators.

This acquisition will strengthen the position of Safran Electronics & Defense sector of the aviation services, collection and management of data (Aircraft Condition Monitoring and Flight Data Monitoring). Contributing to flight safety, risk management, optimisation of maintenance and flight operations, the service solution Cassiopeia is used by nearly 200 airlines.
