Plastic Omnium is to enter its Committee of Strategic Analysis Automotive members outside the group, in order to benefit from their skills and stimulate the innovative capacity of the Group. This committee, founded in 2011 and led by the scientific Director of Plastic Omnium, is developing a policy of “open innovation” by multiplying collaborations, public/private partnerships and technology transfers.

In addition to the directors of the Research and Development of various activities of the group, this Committee is open to eminent personalities and internationally recognized in the academic world, and academic, research and industry.

The first external members to join the Strategic Committee are :
 Professor Mathias Fink, professor at the ESPCI Paris, member of the Academy of Sciences and Academy of Technology. Professor Fink, a researcher internationally recognized in the wave propagation and imaging, was chaired by the chair of technological Innovation at the Collège de France.
 Professor emeritus, Jay Lee, of the american University of Cincinnati. Professor Jay Lee, Ohio Eminent Scholar, L. W. Professor Kitano is one of the pioneers of artificial intelligence, robotics, and smart energy systems.

Teaching in various universities in the world, he has led several major projects puclics and, among several presidencies, has occupied one of the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (2009-2011).

This initiative is a new step in the commitment of the Plastic Omnium to the rapid changes in the automotive industry, after the launch of the construction of a new advanced research centre on new energies in Brussels ; the creation of Ξ-POCellTech in 2016 in the area of hydrogen fuel cells, as well as the input of the Group on the steering committee of the “Hydrogen Council “, which brings together industrialists actively involved in the development of this new source of energy.
