Japan: equity markets finish lower; the Nikkei 225 index declined 0.57%

Japan: equity markets finished the session lower on Thursday; the downturn in the sectors of Finance and investment, Chemistry, petroleum and plastics, and shipbuilding contributed to this decline.

In the closing session in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 index was down 0.57%.

The best performance of the session for the Nikkei 225 index is to be put to the credit of the title of Keio Corp. (T:9008) increase of 1.53% is 110,0 points for a closing price of 7.290,0. In the second position, we find Shionogi&Co. Ltd. (T:4507) who wins 1,40% either 85,0 points for a closing to 6.146,0. The title Nippon Suisan Kaisha, Ltd. (T:1332) completes the top three with an increase of 1.22% or 8.0 points for the end of the session to 664,0.

Advantest Corp. (T:6857) sign the worst performance of the session, losing a 5.00% or 137,0 points for a closing price of 2.602,0. Taiyo Yuden Co. Ltd. (T:6976) abandons 4,38% or 83.0 points and ends at 1.814,0. For its part, Tokyo Electron Ltd. (T:8035) loose 4,21% is 655,0 points for a closing price of 14.910,0.

The titles in the drop exceeded the number of titles rising to the Tokyo stock Exchange by 2648 values at 839 and 213 stable.

The Nikkei Volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of options of the Nikkei 225 index, has lost 1,46% up to 16.90.

On the other hand, crude oil for delivery in July gained 2,84% or a 1.45 points, to $52,59 the barrel. Regarding other commodities, Brent crude for delivery in August rose by 3.03% or 1,82 points for a $61,79 barrel, while gold for delivery in August gained 0.25 per cent is 3,35 points for a $1.340,15 a troy ounce.

The USD/JPY pair recorded a decline of 0.13% to 108,34, while the pair EUR/JPY fell 0.02% to 122,42.
