In Germany, the unemployment rate at its lowest since 1990

The decline in unemployment in Germany cannot be denied. The German economy has ended the year 2017 with a level of unemployment at the lowest since the country’s reunification in 1990, according to figures published on Wednesday 3 January by the Agency for employment.

During the year, the number of unemployed in the first european economy fell by 158 000 people, for a total of 2.53 million. The unemployment rate is therefore dropped to 5.7 %, whereas it was 6.1 % at the end of 2016.
