* Doubling the area of the commercial gallery 10 760 m2 GLA
Paris, June 8, 2017 – Galimmo SCA, a listed real estate company specialised in retail property and in the valuation of shopping centers, announced today the launch of the construction of extension and renovation of the gallery adjacent to the Cora hypermarket located in Houssen, north of the city of Colmar. On this occasion, the whole shopping centre will be restructured.
The first stone is laid this day, in the presence of Christian Klinger, Mayor of the city of Houssen, Eric Straumann, an Mp and Chairman of the departmental council of the Haut-Rhin, Maël Aoustin, Director-General of Galimmo, Gilles Dumont, Director of the hypermarket Cora Houssen, Johann Schmitt, President of the Association of Traders of the site, and Rebekah Tsang, Director of the Centers Alsace South Galimmo.
At the heart of an area of activity and dense in the immediate vicinity of the motorway A35, giving it a very good accessibility to the shopping centre will be transformed with a doubling of the current area of the gallery and a complete overhaul of its interior design as its exterior architecture.
At the end of 2018, the new configuration of the shopping center will offer a wider market in the course of a customer journey revisited, while reinforcing its contribution to the territorial dynamics.
Maël Aoustin, Director-General of Galimmo said : “the project for The extension-renovation of the site of Colmar-Houssen is the materialization of our desire to strengthen the visibility of the shopping centre within its catchment area and to expand its role in the regional economy. It is a perfect illustration of the strategy of Galimmo the ambition is to create commercial centres of reference and install the signs that develop their presence in France within areas of commerce are user-friendly and strongly anchored in their territory.”
A destination shopping unique, friendly
Created in 1998 with the installation of the hypermarket Cora, his locomotive food, the shopping centre of Colmar-Houssen has today a well-established position within its catchment area. It currently deploys a total surface area of 20 to 160 m2 GLA, of which 5 660 m2 GLA occupied by the commercial gallery and its 26 stores.
Galimmo today launched the project which focuses on the creation of 5 100 m2 GLA of additional commercial gallery and the renovation of existing surfaces. In 2018, the commercial gallery will host a total of about 50 signs within a site totalling 25 260 m2 of surfaces GLA.
The commercial offer will be extended and enriched. Among the signs, the installation of which is already scheduled, H&M will particularly strengthen the supply of ready-to-wear and open at the time, his 8th store in a mall Galimmo.
The service and friendliness will be in the spotlight. The customer journey will guide the visitor through three different moods : “Art of living “, ” Inspiration gourmande “, and ” Nature “. Many animations will help make the shopping centre a true place of life, also thought to the children with different play areas outdoors and inside.
The project represents a total investment estimated at more than 20 million euros, of which 80% carried by Galimmo SCA.
An architecture that is contemporary and rooted in its environment
The new architectural identity for the shopping center signed by the architectural firm Outsign plays with the codes of the region. Topped with pitched roofs with two gables, the centre will be dressed with a facade decorated with motifs alluding to the structures of the buildings, half-timbered and decorated with plants.
The place has been redesigned in order to embody the dynamic commercial, cultural, and human own the alsatian villages.
A project fruit of the process of co-design Galimmo, a singular approach and participatory
The reconfiguration of the shopping centre Colmar-Houssen has benefited from the approach to Galimmo which is based on the involvement of different stakeholders in the design phase of the projects.
Participatory workshops have brought together customers, merchants, municipal officials, local actors and employees Galimmo alongside teams of architects. This helped to reveal and confront the expectations and desires of different audiences, both as regards the architecture of the site that its commercial offer and its animation. The teams of architects and specialists Galimmo were able to work together to design a place of shopping in the air of the time, while relying on concrete tracks and smooth, such as that of the alsatian architecture widely acclaimed.
