Paris, June 12, 2017 – Eurosport announces an expanded partnership with CA Technologies, a software editor for processing digital organizations. This technology partnership allows Eurosport to provide detailed information on the cycling races through tv broadcasts and via its mobile app Eurosport. To launch this partnership, Eurosport is launching a parallel contest called ” Home of Cycling Series “. This challenge encourages fans of cycling to take full advantage of the race data and compete with professional riders. For a period of 3 months from June to August, 2017, it will aim to both big fans of practicing the bike intensively, and the enthusiasts for whom this is a hobby.
An immersion in the race
Using tools CA API Management and CA App Experience Analytics provided by CA Technologies, Eurosport has proposed, for the first time, an interactive map tracking the riders throughout the Giro d’italia. The data collected by the application of Eurosport, as well as on the website of the chain have allowed fans to follow the entire race in immersion, with GPS data (altitude, speed, transit time), and biometric (cadence, power, heart rate) of each rider in real time. Great contest as the Home of Cycling Series.
The big contest Home of Cycling Series consists of three individual events (one per month) for different levels of amateur cyclists. CA Technologies has partnered with Eurosport for the first competition : “The 10th Rider Challenge “. It comes to browse a maximum of kilometres during the month of June, to try to win a place in the training camp of cycling team Trek-Segafredo in December 2017. This prize of inestimable value will be to select the 10th rider of the Trek Segafredo just for a training session. As an official partner of team Trek-Segafredo, CA Technologies will be able to realize the dream of a biking fan, who will have shown their capacity to measure up to pro runners.
