EOS imaging (Euronext, FR0011191766 – EOSI), the pioneer of the medical imaging orthopaedic 2D/3D, today announced that the EOS system is now available for patients in the Scoliosis Center, a division of Advocare The Orthopedic Center, the third site of the Medical Center NYU Langone offer the EOS system to his patients. The first two units, acquired by the organization is dedicated to adult patients in the Center for Musculoskeletal Care, and the Hospital for Joint Diseases.

The solution EOS, which includes the equipment of 2D/3D imaging at low dose, the workstation 3D sterEOS and the software suite of surgical planning, 3D spineEOS, will be dedicated to the support of the pathologies of the spine in 3D and at low irradiation. The Advocare The Orthopedic Center provides treatment with the state of the art for adult and pediatric patients.

Dr. Mark A. Rieger, FAAOS, surgeon, specialist in paediatric orthopaedics, founding partner and chief physician at Advocare The Orthopedic Center, said : “The Scoliosis Center, created in 1994, is the first centre of our network exclusively dedicated to the treatment of scoliosis, a complex disease of the spine. The arrival of the EOS system is an important step in the creation of a world centre of reference for scoliosis in New Jersey. Our affiliation to the Health System, NYU Langone allows us to offer treatment options top of the range for better results for the benefit of our patients. ”

Researchers at the Medical Center NYU Langone presented at the last annual conference of the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) a study on the irradiation-related examinations of the musculoskeletal system, comparing, in particular, the radiation exposure of pediatric patients with the EOS system imaging and with conventional radiography. The study has shown that a standard review 2D/3D spine with the EOS system imaging uses 60% of radiation than the conventional x-ray. The importance of the reduction of the radiation exposure associated with imaging examinations has been underscored by new data on mortality and genetic effects radiation-induced observed in patients suffering from scoliosis and have received a significant number of imaging examinations in the course of their treatment.

Marie Meynadier, ceo of EOS imaging, says : “The installation of a third EOS system in the network NYU Langone backs up our technology as a standard of care in the management of pathologies orthopedic. This installation at the Scoliosis Center will facilitate access to EOS technology for patients of New Jersey and cared for by the network of the NYU Langone system, a first health plan. ”

The Scoliosis Center, a division of Advocare The Orthopedic Center, is located at 218 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, New Jersey 07927. The patients concerned and their families can inquire by phone at (973)-538-7700.
