Embraer has got a nice command of the part of the american group SkyWest, the parent company of both airlines, including SkyWest Airlines and a leasing company. The manufacturer of brazil announced on Wednesday an agreement for a firm order of 25 aircraft regional E-Jets to SkyWest, which has recorded sales of 1.57 billion dollars in the first half of 2017. The amount of the contract amounted to $ 1.1 billion at list prices. The 25 aircraft will be delivered between march 2018 and end of 2018.
On the 25 aircraft, SkyWest will receive 15 E175 SC (special Configuration), in a configuration of 70 seats. However, the E175 SC has a cell that can be retrofitée to reach 76 seats. They will fly under the colors of Delta Air Lines. In addition, the u.s. airline will receive 10 E175s, in a configuration of 76 seats, similar to the devices that SkyWest has already ordered. These aircraft will fly for Alaska Airlines.
A market share majority in the United States
Taking into account this new contract, Embraer has sold more than 360 regional aircraft E175 to airlines in North America since January 2013. The aircraft manufacturer, the brazilian has won “more than 80% of orders in the segment of aircraft of 76 seats,” according to Embraer. Since its commissioning, the family of E-Jets has received more than 1,700 orders, of which 1.300 aircraft have already been delivered. The E-Jets fly in fleets of 70 customers in 50 countries. The E-Jet, configurable from 70 to 130 seats, also flies well in low-cost companies as regional or international.
