Paris, June 19, 2017 – EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the acquisition by its subsidiary EDF-EN do Brasil, a photovoltaic solar power facility project to be built. This future central Pirapora II will have an installed capacity of 115 Mwp.

EDF Energies Nouvelles continues its development in the renewable energy sector in Brazil. With this new project, he holds a portfolio in the construction of 489 MW, of which 183 MW of wind and 306 Mwp of solar.
EDF Energies Nouvelles has acquired the project of photovoltaic power plant of Pirapora II, at the height of 80% of Canadian Solar Inc, who remains a shareholder of the project to the tune of 20% and ensures the manufacturing of photovoltaic panels in its local factory.
The project of Pirapora II (115 MWc) has a power purchase agreement (PPA) with a term of 20 years and its commissioning is scheduled for the first half of 2018.
Located in the south-east region of the country, the project is adjacent to Pirapora I (191 MWc), another solar power plant currently under construction, also owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles in partnership with Canadian Solar Inc.
Of a total installed capacity of more than 300 Mwp, the solar energy generated by these two projects will represent the annual electricity consumption of 323 000 households in brazil.
