Paris, June 21, 2017 – EDF Energies Nouvelles has signed a contract for the supply of electricity (PPA : Power Purchase Agreement) for the proposed wind farm Stoneray power of 100 MW, via its north american subsidiary, EDF Renewable Energy.

The United States is a key market for the EDF Group, which has the ambition to double its renewable energy capacity by 2030, as part of its strategy 2030.

The proposed wind farm Stoneray is located on the counties of Pipestone and Murray, in the south-west of the State of Minnesota.

The installation will include up to 50 turbines. Its construction is expected to begin in early 2018 and its commissioning is expected in the course of the winter of 2018-2019.

The wind project has a contract to supply electricity in the long term with the municipal Agency of energy of the Minnesota Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA)).

The project is expected to create more than 150 jobs on the site and then ten perennial jobs, full-time.

At full capacity, the wind farm is expected to produce the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 47 000 households in Minnesota.
