VÉLIZY-VILLACOUBLAY, france, June 12, 2017 Dassault systèmes (Euronext Paris : #13065, DSY.PA) announced the signing of a definitive agreement for the acquisition of the Dutch company AITAC BV, publisher of engineering software for the marine industry and offshore. With this acquisition, Dassault systèmes confirms its leadership in the digital transformation of this industry by providing users of the platform 3DEXPERIENCE of advanced technologies specific to their domain of activity.
Shipyards and companies in the offshore sector use the application Smart Drawings of AITAC to automate the creation of drawings from the 3D model master of a ship, a platform or any other structure designed with the applications CATIA, Dassault systèmes. This automation relies on rules and templates that take into account the standards, behaviors, and local requirements specific to the naval sector. Companies can significantly reduce the cost of production of drawings, improve the quality certification documents, and maximize the value of the 3D model master.
Dassault systèmes will integrate the Smart application Drawings to its industry solution experiences “Designed for Sea” and “Optimized Production for Sea” based on the platform 3DEXPERIENCE, that companies use to design, validate and plan the production of their projects in the naval field or offshore.
In the framework of this transaction, Dassault systèmes also acquires 40 % of the office of naval engineering and offshore which has AITAC in Croatia. AITAC d. o. o. is specialized in the provision of engineering services and naval architecture from the great builders of ships.
