CMC Markets recorded an increase of its profitability in spite of a decrease in the number of active clients

The CFD broker CMC Markets has announced optimistic results for the first half of the year 2018. The company recorded a profitability markedly higher than last year due to increased volumes of trading.

The number of traders active at CMC Markets declined slightly year-on-year, mainly due to base effects of the referendum on Brexit. But the targeting of customers to higher-value-added seems to be paying. Full details will be published at the end of November.

CMC also indicates that its operating costs are unchanged compared to last year. During the second half of its fiscal year, the company plans to increase its marketing expenditures and the implementation of its partnership in Australia with the bank ANZ. The broker expects to deploy its solution in the next year.

The broker is cautious when it comes to addressing regulatory developments. Despite the increasing profitability of the last few months, the company is sceptical about the future because of the ongoing discussions between the european regulators.
