Paris, June 28, 2017 – The business law firm of lawyers of international Baker McKenzie announces five appointments to its Paris office, to the rank of Senior Counsel, Partner and Counsel in the following three departments : Mergers and Acquisitions, Tax and Public Law / Environment. At the global level, 80 new Partners have been appointed within the firm, which now has 1600 Partners within its 77 offices. These appointments will be effective from 1 July.

Régis Torlet, 41 years old, was appointed Senior Counsel. Member of the Paris bar since 2001 and holds a masters of Business Law, Taxation and Accounting (1999) and a DESS in Law of Corporate Taxation from the University of Aix-en-Provence (1999), he joined the Tax department of Baker McKenzie in 2006 where it was until now a Local Partner since 2010, after being a senior associate. Previously, he served in two international organizations between 1999 and 2005. He is specialized in control and tax litigation as well as risk analysis. In the area of fiscal control, it assists in particular its clients in the course of the verification procedures of accounting. At the end of these procedures, it is involved in negotiations with the administration. In the area of tax litigation, it accompanies its customers in all phases of litigation before the courts (administrative and judicial). It also intervenes in the course of searches tax.

Guillaume Nataf, age 37, was named Partner. Member of the Paris bar since 2005, he holds a Master’s degree in Law and International Management obtained at HEC (2005), a DESS in European Business Law from the Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas (2004) and a Master of Business Law (2003) and a Diploma from the Institute of Business Law (2002) from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas. Guillaume Nataf has joined the M&A department of Baker McKenzie in 2005 and has been named Counsel in 2015. He advises clients in france and abroad, on their mergers and cross-border acquisitions, the establishment of joint-ventures and shareholders ‘ agreements, overseeing and co-ordinating teams of lawyers in different countries, and providing an advisory role with its customers during the different stages of these operations.

Edouard de Rancher, 33 years old, is appointed Partner. Admitted to the Paris bar since 2010, he holds a Master 2 in tax Law from the University Paris IX Dauphine (2007) and a Master degree in Business Law from the Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas (2006). Edouard de Rancher has joined the team of Tax Baker McKenzie in 2010 where it was until now a Collaborator. Previously, he worked in the “French desk” to an international firm in New York. He is a specialist in general taxation of companies, tax litigation, international taxation and taxation of non-profit organizations. It intervenes particularly for clients in the health care industry.

Ludovic Coudray, 41 years old, is appointed as Counsel. Holder of a Phd in Law (2005), a Master 2 in european Union Law and a Master’s degree in Public Law from the University Paris II Panthéon-Assas, he is admitted to the Paris bar since 2007. Ludovic Coudray has joined the Public Law / Environment of Baker McKenzie in Paris in 2007 as an Employee and was appointed senior associate in 2010. He is specialized in administrative law, both in terms of board litigation. Specialising in the law of the regulation, notably in the areas of energy (electricity and gas), the airport, the electronic communications and audiovisual media, he frequently intervenes with the French authorities and the european regulatory.

Julien Grandry, 39 years old, is appointed as Counsel. A graduate of Grenoble Ecole de Management and holds a Master of Business Law (2002) and a postgraduate degree in Law of Financial Engineering (2004), he is admitted to the Paris bar since 2005. The essential part of its activities focuses on mergers and acquisitions involving several countries, notably in Morocco and in the countries of law Ohada. It is involved in acquisition transactions, equity investments and on the establishment of strategic partnerships and co-development. Among his recent transactions, he has advised the NIS moroccan in the creation of a joint venture is pan-african with the group LafargeHolcim and the French group Oberthur Technologies in the context of the acquisition of a supplier of smart cards based in South Africa. Julien Grandry has joined the M&A department of Baker McKenzie in 2012 to participate in the creation of the Casablanca office.
