Australia: equity markets finish higher; S&P/ASX 200 gains of 0.39%

Investing.com Australia: equity markets finished the session higher on Thursday; the progress of the sectors, Metals & mining, Resources, and Materials has contributed to this increase.

The best performance of the session for the S&P/ASX 200 is to be put to the credit of the title Pact Group Holdings Ltd (ASX:PGH), an increase of 11,40% or 0,260 points for a closing price of 2,540. In the second position, we find Mayne Pharma Group Ltd (ASX:MYX) and win stay 9.38% either 0,045 points for a close at 0,525. The title Ardent Leisure Ltd (ASX:ALG) completes the top three with an increase by 6.97%, or 0,070 points for a end of the session, to 1,075.

Cromwell Corp (ASX:CMW) sign the worst performance of the session, losing at 7.57%, or 0,095 points for a closing price of 1,160. Vicinity Centres Re Ltd (ASX:VCX) abandons 5,04% either 0,130 points and finish at 2,450. For its part, Charter Hall Retail REIT (ASX:CQR) loose 4,91% or 0,230 points for a closing price of 4,450.

The titles on the rise and have exceeded the number of titles down to the Sydney stock Exchange by 674 values 569 and 418 stable.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of options on the S&P/ASX 200, lost 3,67% up to 12.545, new low of one month.
