Clichy, france may 18, 2017 Amazon today announced a major investment plan aimed at supporting its research and development in France with the opening of a new Centre of Development Premium Air based in Clichy, france.
This center hosts a dozen of software engineers responsible for creating software of management of traffic dedicated to Prime Air – a delivery system designed by Amazon to return safely-from parcels to customers in 30 minutes or less via unmanned aerial vehicle autonomous, also called drones.
The software of management of the traffic drones will complete the system of control of the existing air traffic, and will help integrate drones flying in the airspace beyond the field of vision of a secure way. It will perform operations of uavs at low altitude in complete safety, providing access to air space and geofencing ; to identify and separate the air traffic in real time ; to plan flights integrating the management of the unexpected and the circumvention of the harsh weather conditions.
Different aspects of the Prime program Air are currently in development in various regions of the globe. The new French team will join the network of development centres Premium Air based in the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria and Israel, which all operate to the realization of this great innovation for customers, Amazon.
