Alstom and Safran signed a technological cooperation agreement

Alstom and Safran have signed today on the paris air show a technological cooperation agreement, whose objective is to put in common the expertise and know-how of both companies in the field of electric propulsion in a first time. This collaborative Research and Development brings two high-tech companies, leaders in different markets that are mobility for Alstom, and Aeronautics, Space and Defence to Saffron.

This agreement will be articulated in a first time around two major themes what are the components and technologies intended for equipment of electric propulsion and the electric propulsion systems and hybrid aircraft and vehicles of public transportation. It will position the French industry at the highest world level in these areas.

This joint research programme is intended to involve research institutes and universities, as well as innovative SMES. The collaborative projects initiated within the framework of this co-operation should be completed before 2020.
