Goldman, Barclays, SocGen eyeing the subsidiary EMC Commerzbank

(Reuters) – Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) Group, Barclays (LON:BARC) and societe generale (PA:SOGN) are interested in the purchase of the division shares and raw materials of the Commerzbank (DE:CBKG), reports Thursday night to the German newspaper Handelsblatt on its website.

Many banks have expressed interest to the activity of index funds traded (ETFS), which is part of the division of EMC (Equities, Markets and Commodities) of Commerzbank but the chairman of the management board of the German bank, Martin Zielke, wishes to transfer the latter from a single source, says the daily, citing sources close to the matter.

No comment could be obtained from different parts outside of office hours.
