Pointing to a slowdown in the growth of the manufacturing sector in French at the end of the first quarter of 2018, the PMI index for the IHS Markit stood at 53.7 in march, lower than the score of 55.9 in February and at its lowest level in over a year.

In detail, the rate of expansion in new orders and new orders to export fold in effect, causing a slowdown in the growth of employment, the activity purchasing and production.

‘The declining demand, customers could, however, be partly the result of adverse weather conditions as well as the strength of the euro’, however, feels Alex Gill, an economist at IHS Markit.
