Eutelsat has announced the signing of a multi-year contract with Elettronica Industriale, a subsidiary of Mediaset, for a lease of capacity on its position as Hotbird, which will allow the Italian group to accelerate its transition to High definition (HD).
To the terms of this agreement, the three flagship channels of the Mediaset – Canale 5, Italia 1 and Rete 4 – will be broadcast simultaneously in SD and HD, in the clear, on the bouquet free tv tivùsat from this video position leading operator in Italy.
‘The passage in HD several channels of the Mediaset group corresponds to a trend that develops in our clients ‘broadcasters’, said Michel Azibert, chief commercial and development experience.
