The new Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones, along with a new watch, are set to be unveiled by the Alphabet (GOOGL) unit on October 4 at its “Made by Google” hardware event. Last year, the tech giant showed off the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro versions at the same press conference.
Several media outlets reported that an image of the Pixel 8 Pro was leaked on a page of the Google Store before being removed. Those who have seen it have reported that the new phone looks similar to the previous model.
The company ran ads online on Les X and Meta (META) threads offered a “spa day” for phones and provided a link to the Google Store to sign up for updates.
Google is also expected to update its first-ever smartwatch, the Pixel Watch, along with the Pixel Watch 2. It's unclear if other products will be released.
Alphabet actions added more 50% of their value this year, and are trading at their highest level since April last year.
