Veolia, partner of the event BiodiversiTerre

On this international Day of biodiversity, the mairie de Paris and the company of cultural and artistic “Place Public” have announced the event BiodiversiTerre, which will be held from 3 to 5 June 2017 in Paris, between the place de l’etoile and the Porte Dauphine.

The families will be invited to discover practices which are eco-responsible on the avenue Foch transformed for the occasion. Through seven tables of the vegetation of the ephemeral, the visitors will explore the new relationship of man with nature. Veolia, partner of the event, including educating the public to the circular economy.

In its giant maze created by the artist Gad Weil from bales of recycled paper provided by Veolia, the visitors will be invited to respond to riddles about the circular economy. People can also make a wish that it will introduce in ” trees of wishes for the nature “, and participate in workshops on the sorting of waste, composting, or the water cycle.

The Recycling, of which Veolia is the lead partner, will also offer several entertainment educational : the making of a mini-vegetable garden and balls seed (seed bombs) and a demonstration of aquaponics (growing technique that recreated an ecosystem in miniature in an aquarium).

The artist creator of this revegetation ephemeral, Gad Weil, explains : “nature has not evolved with the man, she would not be what it is without him. For all that, the man must not forget the responsibility he has towards it, nor that he must protect it for future generations… For BiodiversiTerre, a unique labyrinth in the world, formed by balls of paper, plunges the visitor into a universe rural. ”
