The ECB has been in contact with the main Spanish banks on Monday to investigate the possible effects of Sunday’s referendum on independence in Catalonia.
This is according to El Confidencial, with reference to the sources, according to Bloomberg News.
Given that there has been any significant movements of the clients or account holders so, the ECB has not called for any official meeting or made any special requests.
No one of Catalonia’s two biggest banks, Caixabank or Sabadell, see independence as a realistic outcome, even if they both have the readiness for, if this does become the case.
