1 071 extra common open 4G and 460 in 4G+
In the month of April, SFR has continued its extensive deployments and has continued to expand its network to 4G/4G+.
1 071 common Hendaye (64), Ploemeur (56) or has sucy-en-Brie (94) have thus benefited from the arrival of the 4G and 460 of the 4G+ among which Mont-de-Marsan (40), Niort (79) and Thionville (57). (See lists at end of release)
According to the National Agency of Frequencies(2), SFR is the leading operator for the commissioning of new sites for 4G in France. These massive deployments have enabled SFR to increase of 22 percentage points in the coverage of the population in 4G, bringing it to 88% in the first quarter of 2017. In addition, the Observatory of mobile deployments in sparsely populated areas, published on 19 may by the ARCEP(3) positioned SFR in the first position for the coverage of 4G in the territory, for the coverage of 4G of the population in sparsely populated areas, and also for the reliability of the coverage maps provided by the operator. Through this publication, ARCEP confirms the dynamic deployment 4G of SFR and its willingness to bring ultra High-Speed mobile closer to users.
The rapid expansion of the coverage High-Speed mobile broadband, historic in terms of volumes is the fruit of the real plant production designed by SFR and sustained by unprecedented investment (2.3 billion euros in 2016). This pace continues in 2017, in order to offer 4G to more than 90% of the French population at the end of the year.
Beyond the extension of coverage by 4G/4G+, these massive deployments allow the improvement of the quality of service of the network. Indeed, as shown by the results of the last barometer of the Internet connections mobile published by nPerf(4), SFR registers a dramatic increase in the quality of service of its mobile network in the first quarter of 2017 and peak now in 2nd position in the general classification, all technologies combined (2G, 3G, 4G).
The 4G+ up to 300 Mbps now available in the quasi-totality of the parisian agglomeration and at Anglet, Bayonne and Biarritz
To meet the needs and usages of its customers, SFR invests, innovates and makes available to them technology even more efficient. Thus, in 2016, SFR has launched 4G+ up to 300 Mbit/s, a technology that enables users eligible to enjoy a maximum throughput theoretical 3 times higher than that of the 4G. Today, with more than 200 cities covered, SFR has the coverage of 4G+ up to
300 Mbit/s, the broader of France as confirmed by the barometer independent nPerf(4) in which SFR obtained the best rate of connection 4G+ of the market.
Today, the 4G+ up to 300Mbit/s is available in almost all of the parisian agglomeration and in the towns of Anglet, Bayonne and Biarritz, who will join Brest, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Le Havre, Metz, Mulhouse, Nancy, Nantes, Orléans, Reims and Valenciennes. The goal of SFR is to deploy this technology in the 32 largest French urban areas by the end of the year. (See list at end of release).
The deployment of 4G+ up to 300 Mbit/s enables all customers with 4G on the area to be covered of benefit of an average flow rate increased. In effect, this technology, and the evolution of the standard 4G, aggregating 3 bands of 4G frequencies, allows to increase the total capacity of the 4G network, and thus increase, for all, the speeds it offers. Thus, with the 4G+ up to 300 Mbit/s, all customers with 4G benefit naturally a noticeable improvement in the quality of service and the comfort of navigation.
Fiber : more than 100 000 new made, distributed in 79 municipalities
In April 2017, SFR has continued its deployments on the territory and more than 100,000 homes and business premises have been rendered eligible to the fiber(1) in 79 municipalities. Among these, 29 were newly access to fibre as a Boissy-Saint-Léger (94), Diesen (57), Loison-sous-Lens (62) or Longvic (21), and 50 were granted an extension of coverage such as Argenteuil (95), Bouguenais (44), Guyancourt (78) or Rouvroy (62). (See lists at end of release).
To this day, the services fiber of SFR are available in more than 1,400 French communes.
SFR number 1 speeds for the fixed, all technologies combined, according to nPerf
In its latest barometer, a quarterly internet connections, landlines in metropolitan France(5), nPerf class SFR in the first position for the speeds, all technologies combined. This result, obtained from millions of user testing, came on the heels of the performance of fixed networks of SFR. Already with the first fibre infrastructure(1) in France with more than 9.6 million taken eligible (FTTH/FTTB), SFR confirmed its leadership and will continue to lead the market thanks to its strong and dynamic deployments supported by unprecedented investments.
Michel Paulin, managing Director of SFR, says : “This month, the balance sheet of our deployments of Very High Speed fixed and mobile broadband demonstrates the extent to which SFR is a driver of the digital development of the territory. Our 4G network, acknowledged by the ARCEP as the most extended of France, covers more than 88% of the population as well as in the cities than in the less densely populated areas. In addition, the regular publication of indicators independent, like nPerf, positioning, SFR at the top of their rankings, and confirm, each day a little more, the performance and quality of our networks Very High-Speed fixed and mobile broadband. Concerning the fibre, the SFR is determined to carry out his ambitious deployment plan that will allow the greatest number of French to access the THD fixed in the next few years. ”
The 4G+ and 4G+ with up to 300 Mbit/s are available without any additional cost to SFR customers with a package of 4G and a compatible terminal. The eligibility to the fiber, the mobile coverage, as well as the detailed content of the offers are available on sfr.fr.
